Francesca Palumbo Simon

Schenectady NY | 12306

About me

My name isFrancesca Simon and I have been playing the piano for 30 years and have performed in many venues (churches, weddings, vineyards) but my true passion is teaching. I started playing the piano in Italy at the age of 9 years old under the tutelage of Maestra Marika Torchio. I continued with her for about 5 years then my family and I moved to America. I continued playing throughout high school and college under the care of Terrence Cage. I have Juilliard training and am proficient in music theory, sight reading, music history, pianoforte history and enjoy sharing with my students the love for piano music

Specialties

Classical music is my love and I enjoy sharing this passion with my students. We study the biographies of different composers and how the cultures of the day influenced them. How can those ideals be applied in music performance. I like to reward hard work with awards and encouragement. Instrument playing requires a lot of time and effort so each improvement is an achievement to be noticed.
