About me

Yvonne Alling grew up being adjudicated in the American College of Musicians, Guild Auditions. Her teacher, Mary Soper (a Julliard and Curtis alumni) was a great role model. Following Mrs. Soper’s example, Mrs. Alling is proud to say she has been a student, teacher and judge in this worthy system of assessment. Yvonne Alling has a B.S. in Music Education and M.M. study in piano pedagogy and performance from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Moving with her husband’s work, she has established five studios in the last 25 years in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and now New Hampshire. The most recent studio, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, had almost 90 students enrolled (she also coached several teaching assistants). Those students performed or participated in the following: Carnegie Hall Recitals (Weill hall), World Pianist Invitational Finalist at The Kennedy Center (Washington D.C.), Roland RM-700 Corporation Finalists (Los Angeles), Los Angeles Young Musicians International Competition Finalist, Kirby Center (Wilkes Barre, PA), Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Penn State University, Millersville University, Seton Hall University, Northern Tier of New York- Robert Sides competition ( four consecutive years with at least 4 level winners in the Royal Conservatory Repertoire), National Federation of Music Clubs- Gold Cup Festival, The University of Rhode Island Piano Extravaganza, the Gold Key Competition in Princeton, NJ and the National Piano Playing Guild Auditions. Mrs. Alling thoroughly enjoys working with children and looks forward to working with you in the future.
