About me

Neal Wegener, a native of Denver, Colorado, holds a Bachelor's degree in Music and Theology from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma; and studied additionally at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey; the University of Colorado at Boulder; and Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. Mr. Wegener studied organ with Emmett Smith, Dr. Joyce Kull, Phyllis Tremmel, and Ted Loveland; voice with Dr. Mee-Ae Nam, Dr. Sam Brown, and the late Barry Ellison; and piano with Mary Helen True, Kay Lund, and Lorene Sims.

Mr. Wegener has served on the state board of the Colorado State Music Teachers Association for six years, and is Nationally Certified by the Music Teachers National Association and the National Guild of Piano Teachers. Additionally, he holds memberships in the American Guild of Organists; and the National Association of Teachers of Singing.

Neal Wegener has performed as tenor soloist in the Mozart Requiem, Handel's Messiah, and the Dubois Seven Last Words of Christ. Mr. Wegener currently teaches piano and voice privately in the Highlands Ranch and Parker area. He has served as organist and music director in churches in New Jersey, Oklahoma, Texas, and Colorado; most recently have served for 17 years as Minister of Music and vocal soloist at West Alameda [American] Baptist Church in Lakewood, and subsequent interim organist and choral director positions at Evanston UMC, and at Holy Trinity Lutheran church in Littleton.
