Lesson details

Lessons are designed to meet the specific needs and goals of each student. This includes a balance of theory, sight-reading, ear training and repertoire appropriate to the student's level of proficiency. There are two options you can choose from when signing up for piano lessons: Rotating Lessons or Private Lessons.

Rotating Lessons - Rotating lesson students follow a lighter course of repertoire. Theory and Technique are primarily done in the studio with the occasional at home assignments. Regular practice is still expected. Rotating lessons are designed generally for students (6 to 11 yrs. old) that have had 1 year or less of lessons or in Primer-Level 1 in their piano studies. After the first year of rotating, students must transfer to a private lesson option. Rotating students attend weekly for 60 minutes and rotate between stations. Each student will receive private time with the teacher during that hour. Quarterly bonus group lessons are included and replace the regular lesson for that week.

Private Lessons - Private lessons are 45 or 60 minutes. 30/45 minutes will be Private lesson time, and 15 minutes will be Piano Lab. (Lab will usually take place during another student’s private lesson time). While the standard private lesson is designed for any student, I highly recommend Level 2B and up, Gifted, Young Beginners or Students with special needs choose this option. Students that participate in Arizona Study Program or 5-7 events in Keyboard Gymnastics should take PR60. Quarterly group lessons are included and replace the regular lesson for that week.

Music Computer and Keyboard Lab - The Music Computer and Keyboard Labs use state-of-the-art music software to provide supplemental training to students in the following areas:

Ear Training
Music and Composer History
Music Computer Technology
Music Theory
Group Lessons - Group Lessons are held three times a year. Group Lessons are a great way for students to interact with each other, learn and grow, and have fun!

Adult Lessons - It’s never too late to play the piano. Whether you are Learning to play the piano now as an adult or brushing up on your previous skills, playing the piano will bring you and your family much joy! Click here for 5 top benefits in playing the piano as an adult.
