For Students

We're Here to Help You

The Piano Teachers Federation (PTF) is not just a resource for teachers, it's a resource for students. Whether you're thinking about playing piano, just getting started, or advancing through your piano education, we have something to offer you.

What You'll Find Here

We've put together some of the best information and tools available so you can get the most from your piano playing. And it's all on PianoTeachersFederation.org.

  • Free Resources – On this website, you'll find tons of useful resources such as articles on how to choose a piano or how to choose a piano teacher, our teacher search application, and professional guidance. You'll stay informed and know that you are supported while developing your skills. Best of all it's doe-ray-FREE!
  • Teacher Search – Our search application provides you with teacher profiles that match your search criteria. You'll save time and avoid the frustration of working with a teacher you don't connect with or that doesn't meet your needs.
  • Online Teacher Profiles – Our member teachers create online profiles that showcase their skills and provide you with information about their teaching style, experience, and rates. This gives you confidence in your teacher selection; you know he or she is good match before you start.
  • Performance Opportunities – The PTF is planning numerous outreach programs designed to build interest in piano music and playing. As an example, we've booked a recital hall where teachers and their students can perform. Talk to your PTF member teacher about these opportunities and show off your talent!
