About me

EDUCATION:

Born in Bulgaria, Diana obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in piano pedagogy from the Academia of Music, Dance & Fine Arts in Bulgaria in 1992. Desiring to continue her studies, she went to the United States where she received a Certificate in Piano Performance from La Sierra University in California in 1999 and a Masters of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Redlands, California in 2002. In meeting her desire to conduct, Diana went, on a full scholarship, to the University of British Columbia where she received her Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting in 2007.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Diana established and owns the Zlateva Academy of Music where she teaches piano, voice, organ and music theory.

Diana is also the Music Director for West Vancouver Presbyterian Church and the Choir Director at L'Ecole Bilingue Elementary School.

Diana was the Music Director of the Trinity Baptist Church from 2005 to January 2015.

Diana's teaching experience also includes teaching piano at the UBC community music school, Director of Choral Studies at the Blue Mountain Academy, Pennsylvania, Piano Instructor at the Riverside Community College and teaching privately in her own studio for more than 20 years.

Lesson details

Diana educates, trains and develops students to love, appreciate and excel in the art of music. Diana teaches students from as early as three years of age to advanced students (level 10 of the Royal Conservatory of Music and for auditions to entry to the Bachelor's of Music degree).

Her lessons help develop self-discipline needed for excellence, emphathy required for music making, and the openness to creativity - that are critical to any pursuit, musical or otherwise.
