Bogdan Dulu brings beautiful and unique Canadian repertoire to the Silk Purse Gallery

Prepare yourselves for a stunning performance of Canadian repertoire at the Silk Purse Gallery on Thursday, April 9 at 10:30.

UBC doctoral candidate Bogdan Dulu will first perform a set of six études by Marc-André Hamelin on a beautiful Mason & Hamlin concert grand. He will then be joined on stage by flutist Paul Hung for a a group of pieces entitled "I conversed with you in a dream," by Jocelyn Morlock.

Dulu says of the program:"I guess you could call it the old and the new in a way, not in terms of composers, but in terms of inspiration," says Dulu. "Half of Hamelin's études are inspired by pre-existing works including pieces by Rossini and Tchaikovsky and Morlock's work is inspired by the poetry of Sappho."
