Winter 2010 Combined Recital
The Piano Teachers' Federation is proud to sponsor our Winter Recital at the Vancouver Masonic Center. Beautiful views, a lovely space, lots of help from the volunteers, and a remarkable job by the performers made the event our best ever and a treat to be a part of. Our combined Winter concert consisted of recitals from 4 groups of teachers starting at 11 in the morning and continuing on until 730 in the evening.
Our attendance and student count has grown exponentially since our last recital in the summer. This year we had 4 separate performances throughout the day showcasing more than 100 students from 6 teachers throughout the day on December 4th. Almost 500 people were in attendance at various times throughout the day to enjoy the works of Bach, Chopin, and others with an exceptional performance of Beethoven's Sonata in C Major, 1st and 2nd Movement to cap off the event.
Students ranged in age from 5 to 65 years old and performed pieces from the simple to the sublime. The day was great fun and a wonderful learning experience for the teachers and their students.
