Waka Shinko

Vancouver BC | V6H 1G5

About me

Waka says
"I'm a simple piano lover",
began her piano playing since four years old.

When she was five, she could already
play back any melody on a piano by ear.
She became a constant pianist and accompanist
in the family choir, at the pre-school through high school.

When she was 17 years old, her talent was recognized
at the local radio station "Miss Campus DJ" and TV morning show "Good morning Sunshine".
She was not only a music composer and a performer but also a personality and a reporter.

As a professional Yamaha player, Waka has given concerts since 1986 in Japan and Canada
and appeared in many broadcasting stations and medias.

Currently she is focusing on teaching and working on her recordings.
Her students are the semi-professionals to the beginners.
They are having a good time learning and making music.

Her mission is to give out the message,

"Music is a beautiful gift to everybody.
Just have fun with it. Love your piano!"
