About me

Born and educated in the Philippines earning a Bachelors degree in Commerce, majoring in accounting. Studied piano under Miss Victoria Cristobal. Immigrated to Canada in 1974. Resumed piano studies and earned her Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music (ARCT) Piano Performance Diploma with Royal Conservatory of Music under Anna Shishkov and studied pedagogy under Mr. Edward Parker. Currently have a piano studio in Burnaby, Treasurer of the Vancouver Branch, BCRMT, Chairman of the Student Performers' Guild Festival, and RCM Representative in Burnaby

I have been teaching since 1994. I have been regularly attending teacher workshops given by the BCRMT, the RCM, Hal Leonard, Faber and Faber to upgrade my teaching methods and learn about the latest teaching software.

I follow the RCM and the BCCM syllabus. Therefore, I teach from Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionist, and 20th century styles. I encourage my students to choose Popular pieces from the Popular Selection list of the RCM so that they get some exposure to jazz. Most of my students take the RCM and the BCCM exams. I teach from beginners to ARCT
