About me

I am an Accredited Simply Music Teacher as well as the International Teacher Trainer and Program Manager for Simply Music International. I have a traditional background having studied Suzuki Violin for 5 years and studied piano from age 10 until graduation from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. I discovered Simply Music in 2003 and was the first Simply Music teacher in Washington State. I currently teach at Aspire Academy of Expressive Arts in Sequim and at Musicality in Seattle.
Simply Music is the playing-based piano and keyboard method developed in Australia. Simply Music temporarily delays reading and teaches students to play by immersing them in playing songs. We focus on four categories: Classical, Pop, Blues and Jazz and Accompaniment. Simply Music stands apart from other piano lessons for four reasons: the quantity of music students play, the quality of the music, the speed at which students learn and the ease that they experience in the learning process.
Simply Music is multi-sensory and uses your natural musicality and skills to have you playing great sounding music from your very first lessons.

Specialties

I teach Simply Music playing-based piano lessons. These lessons teach students how to play the piano by building on their existing aural and visual skills and addresses all learning styles. Students play between 30 and 50 pieces their first year including compositions, arrangements, accompaniment, pop, blues, jazz and classical music. Students learn to read music after they have developed a relationship with the piano, usually in their second year of lessons.
We also teach students with special needs.

Lesson details

Prospective students must attend a Free Introductory Session before enrolling in lessons. These sessions are scheduled throughout the month and are appropriate for students ages 5 and older.
We accept students ages 5 through adult.
We teach primarily in groups due to the huge benefits students in groups experience such as the opportunity to observe others learning, positive peer pressure and the positive learning environment.
Please call to reserve a seat in the next Free Introductory Session in Seattle's University District.
