About me

I am in my 7th year of teaching the Music for Young Children program. I believe it is the best program for children to learn to play piano because of it's child centered approach, meeting each child at their different learning styles. It is amazing how much children learn how to play piano when quality music education is blended with the pleasure and joy of music making.

Specialties

"The philosophy of the Music for Young Children® program is to help children develop the happy habit of learning music. Music for Young Children provides the necessary structure for learning to take place while allowing children the freedom to think. Children are empowered to set goals in their learning while experiencing a playful, positive environment." Barbara Coloroso

Lesson details

Why your child should begin with MYC
Because it's fun!! (In addition to being of superior quality, very comprehensive, confidence building and a wonderful way to begin the study of music.)
Because the child and parent bond as a "music team" during lessons and that carries on at home during daily practice and other family activities.
Because this program provides so much musicianship training to young children that it's got to be seen and heard to be believed!!
Because a 66% student return rate and a 90% teacher return rate make a statement about the outstanding quality of the program.
Because 24,000 happy students a year can't be wrong!!

Education and Accreditation

I have a Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba. I also am a certified Music For Young Children teacher with 15 years of experience with teaching piano.
