About me

EXPERIENCE:

Over 40 years of piano and theory teaching plus adjudicating music festivals and conducting piano examinations in both classical and contemporary idioms.
On a personal level, many years of volunteering in my church music department and a number of years of enjoyment as a keyboardist with QuintEssential jazz band.

Specialties

I specialize in ages 4 - 84. For some reason, I have an above-average percentage of boys in my studio. Perhaps growing up with 6 brothers has helped me to related to these boys.
My love for Classical music is strong, but a growing appreciation for others genres enables me to offer a variety of music experiences to my students.
Another area of specialty is Pedagogy. I really love to teach the art of piano teaching to others.

Lessons are private, except for working with duets and ensembles and for theory studies. Class size is 3-6 students for Rudiments, Harmony, History or Pedagogy.
