About me

I attended Capilano College in North Vancouver, British Columbia to further my studies. Here I had the privilege of being taught under Juno winner Brad Turner, Miles Black and Ross Taggart.

After college, I traveled around the world on crusie ships playing in different scenarios such lounge quartet, solo piano and showband. Through these experiences I was able to accompany Regis Philbin and entertainers who appeared on Late Night with David Letterman and The Tonight Show.

Specialties

I have twenty years experience teaching piano and my goal is for you to love playing music. I have my grade 10 Royal Conservatory of Music, a degree in jazz performance from Capilano College(now university) and play professionally as well. The only way a student will keep studying music is to love it and that is what I do for you. I let you play the music you want to play!!! I will not make scales, technique or even reading my main focus in learning piano but through playing modern pop tunes, jazz standards, blues or whatever style or song you want we will learn these skills. My passion is for you to love music as much as I do!!!

Lesson details

Although I do appreciate and love classical music I don't believe it is the only way to learn how to play the piano. Every student learns differently and I gear my lessons towards that student. I do not force the student to learn what I want them to learn. I let the student set a goal and we work towards that and in the process learn how to read, technique, fingering, and other necessary tools to play the piano.
