About me

Piano has been my first love. I enjoy teaching, but I mostly try to inspire. Learning an instrument is a process according to an individual, not to the pressure inflicted on a detailed piece of paper. I began teaching while I was working on my undergraduate degree. I later began accompanying many musical theaters and directing shows. As a classroom music teacher, I found the need to put on shows, which led to my master's degree in theater arts. While I lived in California, I was lucky to study and complete a Film Scoring Certificate, a style connected to my theater background.

Specialties

All ages. Adults and seniors find it helps the brain.
Compositions: I still compose. Recent works: string trios, quartets, and woodwind trios.

Lesson details

I begin to teach about the keys, how the piano works, what one hears, and the importance of the hands. This gives a student the freedom to enjoy the piano. Choices of piano methods depends on the individual student. Lessons are customized. A good technique will last forever.
