About me

Nancy Leticia has over 6 years of piano teaching experience. She is currently teaching piano at the Hollyburn Country Club in West Vancouver, and finishing her BA in Jazz Studies at Capilano University.

She has studied classical piano under Anna Levy (PhD, Conservatory of Moscow), and Eva Solar Kinderman (Zürich Conservatory & Vienna State Academy of Music). Anna and Eva’s mentorship have enabled Nancy to develop her piano technique, tone, and musicality.

She has studied jazz piano under Alan Matheson, Ross Taggart, Sharon Minemoto, Bob Murphy, and Lisa Miller, all of whom are influential musicians across Canada. Nancy’s focus in jazz studies has been in theory, harmony, melody, and improvisation.

Nancy is currently playing in an experimental electronic band, Copy/Paste, where she arranges music and plays synth keyboards.

Lesson details

Lessons will be tailored to the goals and objectives of each student based upon age, ability, and interests.

They will include a wide selection of traditional and contemporary repertoire, and will be encouraged to play music that is relevant to them. Each lesson will include learning repertoire, sight reading, ear training, and theory.

RCM exam preparation until level 8 is offered.

Daily practice is expected. Practice time will vary depending on age, level, and goals.

Education and Accreditation

She has studied piano at Vancouver Community College and Capilano University. She holds a Diploma in Jazz studies at Capilano University, and is currently working on her BA at Capliano University.
