Composer and performer. Degreed and certified teacher with over thirty years of teaching experience. Active member of the National Piano Teachers Guild, American College of Musicians, Texas Music Teachers Association and Original Composition Contest Chairperson for MCMTA.

Specialties

Students learn improvisation, composition, theory and actively perform in monthly master classes, recital and competitions. Students learn a balance of music from all periods, practice technical exercises including scale work, arpeggios, cadences and more. Students record CDs each quarter, performing pieces that they have learned.

Lesson details

Students spend 15 - 20 minutes prior to each lesson working on computer based theory programs. Each 30 - 45 minute lesson includes a review of theory material, warm up on scales, cadences, arpeggios, work on new material, sight reading and reviewing pieces learned.

Undergraduate Degree: Applied Piano, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor; Sociology, Texas Wesleyan University; Post-Graduate work at Amberton University.
