About me
Linda Sheppard graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music with her teacher’s diploma (first class honours), as well as receiving her Licentiate from the London College of Music (TD). Her teachers included Diane Szarapka, Edward Parker and Charlene Pauls as well as master classes with Maureen Hollins, Winifred Scott Wood, Robert Rogers, and Sheila Hardy. Ms. Sheppard received a National Scholarship (History) to Simon Fraser University where she studied European history before dedicating herself to music full-time.
Ms. Sheppard has written a series of popular music history books, support products and theory flashcards which sell across North America to stores and universities and are published by Longbow Publishing Ltd. of which she is the founder and President. Ms. Sheppard is also a guest author in the popular book Piano Pedagogy: A Practical Approach which is used by universities as a introductory textbook and is the best-selling pedagogy text in Canadian music stores.
Experience
Ms. Sheppard teaches piano, theory, history and pedagogy at her studio in Surrey BC; is a clinician and adjudicator; is the President of the South Fraser Registered Music Teacher’s Association; and is Past President of the Greater Vancouver RCM Alumni chapter. Ms. Sheppard is also a member of the College Music Society and an MTNA Corporate member.

Teach the Contemporary Idioms syllabi requirements from Conservatory Canada
Teach for Classical examinations with RCM and BCCM and LCM
Specialize in teaching the RCM music history courses, using my publications (history texts, flashcards and CD-ROMs).
Lesson details
Beginners can choose from a variety of methods, including the Kelly Kirby Kindergarten Course.
Lessons are private for piano students and harmony/analysis, with group OR private lessons available for music history and rudiments classes.
