About me

Julie Lemon was born and raised in Edmonton where she received her early musical training from the Sisters of the Assumption. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree (Piano Performance) from the University of Alberta in 1972 under the tutelage of Dr. Ernesto Lejano. While completing extensive post-graduate courses at the university, she was a teaching assistant at the university and active as a vocal accompanist. Julie furthered her musical education while studying at the Victoria Summer School, Jeunesses Musicales Summer School in Quebec and the Banff Centre for Performing Arts.

After moving to Vancouver, Julie taught the Yamaha Music Program as well as the Carillon Music Program, later becoming coordinator and head teacher. She is past president of the Registered Music Teachers Association – Coquitlam/Maple Ridge Branch. Currently, Julie is an active adjudicator, church musician and accompanist, and maintains a large piano studio in Coquitlam.
