Specialties
Beginners are my specialty. I start kids on piano as early as 4 if they have sufficient parental help throughout the week, using Fabers' My First Piano Adventures makes this possible.
Lesson details
30, 45 or 60 minute lessons are held weekly and bi-weekly. More info is on my site. $20 per half hour.
Education and Accreditation
In 1985, I completed a bachelor's degree in church music at Belmont College (cum laude) and returned for a master's in music education, conferred in 1991. The area of emphasis for my M.M.E. degree was Elementary/ Primary Pedagogical Methodology (translation: how to teach music to kids in K-8). My internship was at Montessori Academy in Brentwood teaching pre-school through 6th grade. I am returning to school in Spring 2011 for teacher certification with the goal of classroom teaching.
