Gabriole Sinclaire

Port Coquitlam BC | V3B 4W2

About me

I am co-owner of the Burke Mountain Music Academy in Port Coquitlam where I mentor students in piano and voice. I believe that the study of music is extremely important in the development of the young mind, and an invaluable aid to maintaining the suppleness of the older mind, as well as providing a path to the joy of creative expression. Each student is individually supported and directed in studies that maximize the growth of their musicianship. Exams may be taken through the Royal Conservatory of Music, from beginners to Grade 10. As well, students have access to Music Festivals, intimate performance classes in the studio, and recitals. My education includes an ARCT in Performance and a Dip.Jazz Studies, so students may explore traditional repertoire and contemporary styles. I've run an active teaching studio for more than 20 years, and still find it fresh and exciting.

Specialties

Gabriole teaches all levels of students from young children to seniors. With both a classical and jazz background, I am able to teach comtemporary theory to those students interested in both reading lead sheets and learning to improvise.
