About me

I have been teaching for more than 25 yrs. From 1987-91, I taught group music lessons for children 4-8 yrs old at Carillon Music in Surrey. From 1994-99, I taught piano privately at Western Conservatory of Music in Langley.

Over the years I have been involved in organizing many recitals. I have helped out with the New West RCM Alumni piano workshops, the South Fraser Music Festivals, and the Langley Kiwanis Music Festival.

Currently, I am teaching in the Clayton area of Surrey, close to Langley also in North Delta.

I look forward to teaching with enthusiasm. It is my desire that every student feels a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment in their musical studies.

Lesson details

I teach all ages from 5 yrs to grandparents. I always have an interview first with future students and parents. I follow the school year from Sept to June with optional summer lessons. Lessons are 30-60 mins once a week. For accelerated study 2 lessons a week is recommended. I choose from a variety of method books, depending on each students' needs or goals. As a base, I like to follow the R.C.M. or Conservatory Canada curriculums as they are both recognized across Canada and students are able to obtain high school credits through exams. Depending on the student, I will prepare them for festivals and exams. However, I do have frequent piano get togethers for a fun social atmosphere and two recitals a year, where all students are expected to participate.

Education and Accreditation

I have my ARCT Teachers' Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Also, I have completed the Diploma of Music, General Studies from Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
