I am a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music that has been teaching in the Mill Creek/Bothell/Snohomish/Everett area (really known as Silver Firs) for over 12 years now. I have taught ages 4 - 67, and LOVE what I do. I have a lot of happy students some of which have gone on to play for bands, choirs, churches. I've had over 30 years of various performance experiences, including solo, concert and jazz bands, choirs, churches, and schools.
There are many activities in the studio for students to get involved with. For the beginners there are recitals, Music Camp, Music in Action (a ribbon festival), For ALL students we have Performance Classes every other month, Composition Contests, two Recitals per Year, Music in Action.. For the intermediate and advanced students in addition to these activities, there are master classes, competitions, Jazz Workshops and National Music Certificate Examinations for high school credit, a Chamber Music Contest, and Yes, even a Pipe Organ Encounter!
I use a variety of tools and methods to facilitate learning in the student. I also encourage students to play by ear, and to improvise and compose. Last year I had 4 composition winners in our SCMTA chapter's Trudy Woll Composition Contest.
Am currently using Well-Prepared Pianist Institute repertoire and methods in addition to Royal Conservatory Repertoire which includes pop and jazz music to help students learn even faster and more efficiently.
I love to teach, and I love to play.
