About me

As a recent graduate from the Vancouver Community College School of Music and from UBC's teacher education program, I am excited to share my knowledge and joy of music! My passion for music began at a young age. From 5-17, I studied piano with a Suzuki trained piano teacher and enjoyed every minute of it. In high school I became interested in songwriting, attended many songwriting workshops and performed at many venues throughout the Lower-mainland. After high school, I wanted to pursue my love for writing music and piano, and so I enrolled at the Vancouver Community College School of Music where I studied composition and jazz piano. I completed my degree at VCC in 2012 and the next year completed a 12 month education degree at UBC. This degree has truly improve my piano teaching abilities as I now understand how children learn best. Currently I am the music teacher at Our Lady of Mercy Elementary, a music minister at Good Shepherd Church, a performer in the local community and a private piano instructor. I believe that music is one of the greatest gifts a person can receive and I look forward to sharing my music experiences and knowledge with others.
