About me

- Born in Alliston Ontario February 13, 1960.
- Raised first in Port Credit Ontario, then Port Coquitlam, British Columbia
- studied piano with Gary Burns, Coquitlam then Lee Kum Sing at U.B.C.
- studied composition with Elliot Weisgarber, Stephen Chatman and Cortland Hultberg at U.B.C.
- received Bachelor of Music Degree with honours in 1982 from U.B.C.
- ballet accompanist for Royal Academy of Dancing examinations in Vancouver and North Vancouver
- company ballet accompanist for Pacific Ballet Theatre and the Anna Wyman Dance Theatre
- taught piano at the R & R School of Music in Richmond, B.C. as well as privately
-moved to Prince George in 1991, taught piano and composition at Classic Touch Piano Studio
- accompanied ballet classes and exams at Enchainment Dance Studio
- moved to the Okanagan in 1997 and Summerland in 1998
- presently teaches piano, composition and theory rudiments privately
- teaches music at the Summerland Montessori School

My mission statement is to bring out the inherent musicality within.
My goal is to provide a love of music to last a lifetime.
My inspiration is my students: I feel honoured and humbled to be the one to guide them through the joys of music.

Experience
I have been teaching piano, composition and music theory for over 25 years. As a composer I have written numerous works for piano, voice, chamber ensembles and orchestra as well as 4 children's musicals.

Specialties

I specialize in classical music lessons, all levels from beginner to ARCT
I also teach rudimentary jazz and improvisation
I teach composition and theory rudiments
