Specialties
What inspires me ? Watching my students enjoy a song after putting some good ol' practicing and hard work. The sense of accomplishment and enjoying playing the piano for aspiring musicians is something that inspires me to keep going in teaching and inspiring other teachers, parents, and students.
My philosophy in teaching is to provide a well rounded lesson. It's not just piano we are learning. It's music!
Besides learning notes and fingering, rhythm is essential as it is the driver of music and why we love listening to it. The importance of making goals, progression is a necessity too. I like to make sure there is a standard curriculum so parents and students can see progression as the year goes on. Lastly, balance. A balance in different genres opens doors of expression for students learning, whether it be jazz, classical, or pop.
