2010 Autumn Shift Festival

Recently the Piano Teachers Federation got some local teachers from the Mount Pleasant neighborhood together and performed at the Autumn Shift Festival. The festival celebrated the shift in seasons as well as the shift in attitude towards sustainability, local eating, responsible living and an increased interest in urban gardening. Hosted by the Mount Pleasant Business Improvement Association, the event took place on Saturday, September 25th from noon until 6 PM. Main Street was a car-free oasis from Broadway to 12th Avenue.

This was a fun, family friendly event with live music from eight local piano teachers: Peter Prihoda, Scott Meek, Laura Tyrrell, Alan Crane, Melisa Chui, Catherine Steele, Alejandro Ochoa and Erika Galinskaya.

The crowds were drawn to our booth thanks to the beautiful music that our teachers were making with a 6'1" Royale grand piano donated by Sean Pacey of Pacey's Pianos.  We received lots of requests from many parents and kids for introductory piano lessons.

This was a great way to showcase our teachers and the community really like the idea of piano teachers being in their area. We look forward to our next event when we can have face time with potential students and promote our amazing teachers.
